About Arya Vysya
Arya Vysyas or Komatis are a Telugu speaking trading caste from AP. They are also found in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Orissa. The people of this caste are mainly engaged in business and trade activities. Arya Vysyas are one of the three sub-sects of the Komati caste, the other two being Kalinga Vysya and Thrivarnika. Arya Vysyas use the suffix Setty in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, and Chetty in Tamil Nadu. Some members of the community are also known to use the suffix Guptha.
